Myrthe Oostenbach is an independent artist based in Amsterdam (NL). Ever since she was a little girl, she has been expressing herself through creating. With her East Indian ink illustrations and paintings, she aims to inspire wonder, braveness and inner strength.
In 2017 she created her first series: 'Celebrating femininity', which is shown during an exposition at Pllek, Amsterdam (NL). With these East Indian ink portraits, Myrthe aims to show how powerfully diverse femininity is. In her eyes, every woman holds a unique sense of wonder, serenity, grace, intuition, fierce and desire. In 2018 she's been creating new pen and ink drawings, working towards her second exposition at Pieter & Tosch (Amsterdam).
Besides portraying women, Myrthe also loves to draw animals and commissioned works like family portraits, birth cards and personal gifts.
Foremost, Myrthe works with East Indian Ink. This material allows her to both make bold lines and deep shadows, as to experiment with spontaneity and flow.
